The Kickstarter campaign has two hours to go! Reminder: if you want to change your pledge amount, click Manage Your Pledge on the project’s page. But take a look at the page first, because right now the funding amount is a nice, HUGE round number!
Paypal Options for the Peacock King Kickstarter
Some of you peeps want to pay with Paypal. I say you can pay with anything you want, but Kickstarter doesn’t take Paypal. So you can Paypal us directly to back the campaign. Any Paypal contributions will get counted toward stretch goals! It just won’t show up on Kickstarter’s official page.
For backers receiving electronic goods, or who are in the US and US territories and receiving shipped goods, we have a button you can use. Yay! Check the project’s Kickstarter Page and see what reward tier you want.
The Paypal button doesn’t have the Button Add-on option for tiers under $25. If you are super-adamant that you get a button and an ebook, email me at cuisinirk at gmail dot com. International backers who want shipped goods, please email me and we’ll work it out directly instead of using the automated button.
We’ll accept Paypal pledges for two weeks, ending on April 24th. This is about the amount of time that it’ll take for Kickstarter to clear the backer funds, so when we send out backer surveys and stuff, we can take care of Paypal backer fulfillment at the same time. Also it seems pretty fair that way all around.
For the rewards with limited numbers that aren’t Royal Art Thief (which we still have plenty of so I’m not worried), you need to contact me directly. That way I can check if we still have any left.
That’s it! Thanks everybody!
Wow, in just a day we cleared $5000! We also picked up nine new backers.
We got the bonus story stretch goal and we’re one backer away from getting another illustration into the book! Check out the update for info on how to add a button to ebook rewards. Also another art preview! These are truly exciting times for Peacock King fans.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: got another backer about two seconds ago so we get another illo in the book! :D
WIP closeup from the Kickstarter wallpaper. Gerald is done! Backers will be the only ones who get to see this beaut at 100%, and in the full image!
We hit our $4500 stretch goal today. :D That means all backers that get a bookmark now get three different bookmarks in a matching set! Check out the Kickstarter to see all the amazing stretch goals we’ve cleared! Next up: bonus story!
This wallpaper is going to be the best art I’ve ever done on a computer. All my skills got a serious boost doing this. First huge detailed piece I’ve done in a long time, first on a Surface Pro. It’s just been amazing and I can’t believe it’s coming out like I envisioned.
Next time I want to do a wallpaper, though? No seven-character images. What the heck was I thinking?
Progress so far on coloring the Kickstarter backer-exclusive wallpaper. Zhevesti and Ebrelle and their respective pets are done. Gerald’s hair and revolver is left. Then it’s just three more characters and a teapot. They should be the easiest characters to color too. I hope.
I learned a lot doing this one! Coloring on my Surface Pro 2 in Photoshop CS5.
If you want the final version of this wallpaper, it’s available to anyone backing the Kickstarter. Pledge levels start at $1.
The first pictures I ever drew of the Peacock King! We’ve come a long way. Includes some notes on the character design process, and art from ten years ago.
Kickstarter update! Included inside: illustration sketch, the line drawing for the wallpaper, and updates on stretch goals.
Very rough sketch of the first Peacock King illustration. @charnanigans will make it into something awesome. I just arranged the composition and figured out how hard it was to draw a running moose.
Also I guess this is your first peek at Zhevesti. Gerald is down there at the bottom with the sort of whack face. I was just trying to note the direction he was looking in, but he looks sort of terrified this way.
We might only show the final illustration to Kickstarter backers, and you can get in on that by pledging a buck.
